Altitude Sports is a Canadian activewear brand with a huge heart.
This fall, they are relaunching their giving program, Alti Action, to benefit amazing charities working to make sports and the outdoors more accessible for marginalized youth and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour). Through Alti Action, they have raised over $300,000 for their various partner organizations.
We are so excited that they have chosen to partner with us in support of our Adventure Sessions program!
Alti Action: Do Good, Feel Better
Altitude Sports is a proudly Canadian activewear retailer that makes technical clothing for the city and nature. Until October 1, 2020, you can add donate $15 to one of the partner organizations, and receive 30 Alti-dollars towards a future purchase.
Especially with COVID-19 impacting communities’ and individuals’ health, creating opportunities for sports and outdoor recreation is becoming more important than ever. Being active and spending time in nature is a vital escape for many people in lockdown. Studies have shown that being outdoors and engaging in exercise contributes to overall mental and physical well-being. However, many marginalized people face barriers and are made to feel unwelcome in these spaces. Altitude Sports is working to change that, and you can help by heading to their online store now to find some clothing or gear and donating to the Alti Action fund.
Alti Action is Supporting these great organizations:
Pour Trois Points believes in social equality for youth from underprivileged neighbourhoods. To help them reach their potential and succeed in life and at school, Pour Trois Points trains sport coaches to become life coaches.
Sun Youth provides a range of sports, recreation, and camp programs for children who need a safe, stable environment to explore, develop and perfect their skills and themselves. They’ve been an outlet for underprivileged youth and BIPOC kids for more than sixty years.
Colour The Trails wants to ignite passion for recreation and adventure by allowing Black, Indigenous, and People Of Colour to try outdoor sports. We all have the right to enjoy outdoor recreation responsibly while treating everyone’s lives with respect.
And of course, us! Zero Ceiling’s Adventure Sessions in Whistler, B.C., offer no-cost outdoor adventure day-camps for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The Sessions let youth connect with nature, take on new challenges, have new experiences, and build confidence.
